Landmannalaugar

In Landmannalaugar, there are several hiking trails suitable for different fitness levels, each offering stunning views of Iceland's unique landscapes.

For an easy hike, start with Laugarhraun, an obsidian-filled lava field with panoramic views of the area. This path is gentle and scenic. At the end, you can detour to Grænagíl, a vibrant green mountain of altered rhyolite, by walking through the lava field.

For a moderate challenge, continue from Laugarhraun to Brennisteinsalda, an orange and red mountain with steaming vents. The climb offers spectacular views.

For experienced hikers, the challenging route leads to Bláhnúkur, a dark peak with steep hills. The climb is demanding but rewards you with breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding mountains. On the way down, you’ll also summit Brennisteinsalda before returning via Laugarhraun.

Sigöldugljúfur

On the way back, we will visit a breathtaking canyon known as the Valley of Tears. This hidden gem is a mesmerizing sight, with countless waterfalls cascading majestically down the canyon walls, creating a mystical atmosphere. The sound of rushing water echoes throughout the valley, adding to its enchanting ambiance.

This picturesque canyon provides the perfect conclusion to your journey through the Icelandic Highlands. Its awe-inspiring beauty and serene surroundings leave a lasting impression, capturing the wild spirit of Iceland’s landscapes.
